Not sure of the final league position, but it is certainly very respectable.

Last match of the season and an 8-1 loss, disappointing but not surprising - well tried everyone especially Joan and Josh who took a strong second pair to three ends, Martyn and Wendy were beating the third pair 11-3 when the opposition retired with an injury and Di and Dave got close in two of their rubber but couldn't quite take them.

Dave and Simon took a game off each pair, going to 3 in every rubber, but just brought home the one.
Paul and Jerry played one of their best matches of the season to take 2 rubbers, whilst Mark and Carl beat all 3 pairs to once again score a maximum.
Terrific match, played against excellent opposition, in a sporting spirit.
Well played team. In a very difficult season, managing to avoid relegation was a good effort. Some hard work during the summer should see us a little more comfortable next season.

After starting off really well, 1st and 2nd pairs winning their first games there was frantic activety collecting up the shuttles and bringing out the correct type!! apparently the type we had played with first had been some they had been given to try out, which were supposed to be as near to feathers as plastic could be, which would account for our success with them.
We all took one pair to three ends but that was the only good news of the night. Will and Janet missed out by 3 points in two games losing 17-14 twice to the 2nd pair
Martyn and Wendy lost to the 1st pair in the 3rd end 15-13 and Joan and Barry took the middle game off the 2nd pair but unfortunately could't maintain it for the 3rd end.
Well played everyone - they are a strong team - 2nd in our division.

A 4-5 loss at home was a disappointment but well tried team. Although Martyn was supposed to be my partner from the off this is only the second time we have a played a match together this season and it felt as though we had certainly got it together - hopefully next time we will take three. Will and Di again played well together and took 2, taking the first pair to three ends but sadly losing it. Josh played for us again, this time with Janet but unfortunately all the chinese men accross the net proved too strong (keep working hard Josh, you're getting there).

Sweet revenge for the 9-0 drubbing in distant Stratford. An excellent victory against a strong Alveston side, played it must be said in very good spirit.
Alveston's 1st pair proved too strong for us, but good results from Carl/Mark & Paul/Jerry against a canny 3rd pair made the difference, with Paul back to his habitual "let's win the deciding rubber" ways I'm happy to note !
Need another couple like this to ensure safety.

A frustrating end to the year.
A very closely fought contest which could have gone either way - but unfortunately went the wrong way.
Dave & Simon had the dubious honour of playing the deciding rubber, which proved "EVENTFUL" to say the least, but some "interesting" calls by the opposition pair proved to be their downfall losing 15-13 in the 3rd end.
Andy battled on in spite of a continuing shoulder injury and managed, with Vic, to pick up 2 rubbers.
Kelly & Phil formed a temporary partnership and picked up 1, but just missed out on a 2nd.

Will and Di did well winning 3 (I like a man who does as he is told)!! Dave and Janet had lost the will to live by the time they got on to play their last rubber waiting for Josh and I to finish but they had already won 2 rubbers so it did not matter. A big well done to Josh who played really well after he had got rid of the nerves in the first rubber, taking the second pair to three ends and winning 15-13 in the third having been quite a few points behind also taking the first pair to 3 ends but we seem to lose the plot in the third end.

This was the teams first home match of the season following quite a long gap from the away match at the beginning of October. A tough match against a strong team played at tropical temperature. Mark unfortunately pulled up with a recurrence of Friday's injury, and was forced to concede the three rubbers. Paul's sweat, brewed under licence in Prague, combined with Jerry's guile was not quite enough to influence the scoreboard, however Simon and Dave managed to salvage some pride for Barkers by winning the last rubber.
Ernesford were relegated from Div1 last year, and look to be going back up this year. But there's always the return match !
